It's offcial, the best Bed and Breakfast guest house in the world is in the UK!
Blindon Bottom B&B in West Lulworth in Dorset has been voted the best in the world by travel website TripAdvisor. The five-bedroom Victorian guest house has beaten international competition from mainland Europe and the USA. The award is based on the quality and quantity of traveller reviews and almost 1,000 visitors have left glowing reviews praising Blindon Bottom. Four other British B&Bs also made the top ten, proving that the UK has some of the top guest houses in the world.
Blindon Bottom had 929 guests who left five star ratings and comments such as, 'a jewel of a B&B' and 'simply the best'. Guests said that the owners, Clive and Lisa Orchard, cook a 'mean' eggs benedict and provide a range of organic toiletries, while kings-sized beds, power showers, fresh coffee and original fireplaces add to the accolades. Each room is named after a literary figure and prices for B&B rooms range from £90 for a night in the Barnes Room, to £130 for the Hardy Room, with its views over the rolling Dorset hills.
The Blindon Bottom beat the Modello Resort in Palermo, Italy (below), which offers its guests private sailboat excursions into the Mediterranean, and the Welsh Hills Inn in Ohio, USA, where guests get their own heated pool and hot tub, a fishing pond and clay shooting range.
