Prosecco Cocktails

Everyone loves Prosecco these days - young and old, and although it tends to be slightly sweeter than champagne, it's much more affordable. So as we begin preparing for Christmas, it is worth stocking up on the 'fizz' while it is still reasonably cheap in the supermarket, as its ideal for creating festive cocktails. If you need a few ideas, why not try these:-

Icy Kir
Pour 25ml of vodka into teh bottom of a coupe glass. Chill for 30 minutes and then top with a scoop of blackcurrant or raspberry sorbet and then pour 100ml of prosecco around it. serve immediately.

Hedgerow Royale
Fill a coupe glass with crushed ice and pour over 50ml of prosecco. Hold 1 rosemary sprig in the palm of your hand and clap the other hand sharply over it to lightly bruise the leaves before dropping into the glass. Slowly pour 25ml of sloe gin and 25ml of cheery brandy into the glass so they sink to the bottom. Serve immediately.

Grapefruit Spritz
Pour 50 ml of grapefruit juice and 25ml of Aperol into a chilled coupe glass. Add ice and gently stir to combine. Top up with 50ml of prosecco and garnish with a twist of grapefruit zest and serve immediately.

Coco Fizz
Put 25ml of coconut rum, 50ml of coconut water and the juice of half a lime into a cocktail shaker, add ice and shake until the outside of the shaker is icy-cold to the touch. Strain into a chilled coupe glass and top up with 50ml of prosecco and serve.
