Kendal Festival of Food

There is no more beautiful a place in the UK than the Lake District and at its centre is the glorious town of Kendal. The annual Kendal Food Festival on the weekend of 29th and 30th March brings visitors the taste of the best of England's North Country.

Kendal town centre will play host to a two day celebration of all things food and drink; a chance to experience the best the region has to offer from artisans and producers, to world class chefs and fresh new talent. Taking place in the pretty market town with the beautiful Lake District as its backdrop, this year’s food festival is set to be tastier than ever before. 2014 will see the launch of England’s North Country Food Market, featuring over 80 top quality regional food and drink producers in what promises to be much more than a farmers market.

The weekend will also feature a packed programme of food demonstrations, talks, tastings and pop up restaurants featuring some of Cumbria’s greatest food heroes. This year’s food festival also promises foodie fun for the whole family with the introduction of a Family Festival Village. With all sorts going on over the weekend from children’s cookery demonstrations and workshops, to the live farmyard, entertainment, street theatre and more, there is sure to be something for everyone, from a serious foodie to those seeking two fun days out with the kids. Competitions and games will offer fun for all ages and our two star acts, CBBC’s Gastronaut Stefan Gates and nationally renowned duo, The Meringue Girls are just the ‘icing on the cake’
