TOP RESTAURANTS IN THE UK

Yesterday The Sunday Times published a list of the Top 100 Restaurants in the UK. This is the result of research by Hardens, an annual survey that gathers the views of thousands of people who go out to eat. This year 6,250 people participated in the survey and submitted 65,000 reviews. The Sunday Times claims that this is an authoritative, comprehensive and up-to-date guide for lovers of good food. Is it?

What about TripAdvisor? You can't get anymore authoritative than that, and they have far more reviews from their world-wide team of restaurant reviewers, of which I am one. So take The Sunday Times Top 100 with a 'pinch of salt', if you have not already given up salt! The well known consumer website TripAdvisor has very recently issued it's travellers' Top 10 favourite Fine Dining Restaurants in United Kingdom and whilst the list is to some extent predictable, there are a few surprises, but I am more inclined to believe TripAdvisor reviewers than Hardens.

Are there any restaurants that you have visited in this top ten?

1. Midsummer House, Cambridge (above)

2. Le Manoir Aux Quat'Saisons, Great Milton, Oxfordshire
