FILM FOOD CLUB
What a brilliant idea - combine food and food films. Birmingham's only independent cinema The Electric has reintroduced its Film Food
Club and on Sunday 20th April they will be showing Chocolat (18), proceeded by a three course French meal.
Directed by Lasse Hallström and starring: Juliette Binoche, Judi Dench, Alfred Molina, Lena Olin and Johnny Depp. The Film Food Club returns with a decadent evening of French cuisine and chocolate box romance, as The Electric Cinema in Station Street teams up with Le Truc restaurant. Guests can enjoy a delicious French meal, followed by a screening of the romantic drama Chocolat, starring Juliette Binoche as a woman whose decision to open a chocolate shop in a small French village shakes up the local community.
The evening runs as follows:-
5.00pm - Meet at Le Truc restaurant at the Arcadian Centre for your starter and main course.
7.00pm - Move from Le Truc over to The Electric Cinema, where the film (beginning at 7.30pm) will be accompanied by a French cocktail and an assiette of chocolate goodies as dessert.
The menu at Le Truc, Birmingham's eclectic French restaurant (above), looks delightful, with Starter options of Butternut squash soup or Ham hock terrine, cornichons, toast or Whitebait, baby gem, aioli
Main course options are Pig's cheek bourguignon, creamed potatoes or Cod fishcake, braised leeks, crab and chive veloute or Field mushroom polenta, roast shallot puree, broccoli.
The price of the tickets are £29.80 and includes a three course meal, film screening and French cocktail and can be booked at:- http://www.theelectric.co.uk/book-tickets.php?film=825/
