''Artisan Pizza'' by Giuseppe Mascoli
''It was good and bad when Giuseppe Mascoli launched his first Franco Manca pizzeria five years ago, letting us Brits in on just how good a pizza could really be. Good because who doesn't love an authentic Neapolitan pizza as it emerges flecked and charred from the depths of a fiery furnace? Bad because it showed just how impossible it was to get the same results at home without the benefit of a 400'C wood fired oven. But now the master pizzaiolo is back, showing us how we can achieve equally good results. His secret weapons? A simple fail safe dough and an iron frying pan. Then just add toppings of your choice.'' (The Sunday Times)
Giuseppe's new book, 'Artisan Pizza' shows you how to make Neapolitan-style pizzas in your own kitchen. From taking you through the basic pizza dough recipe, Giuseppe provides a range of recipes for toppings that range from Marinara to Courgette and Ricotta to Chorizo. However, I liked the Salami and Goat's Curd Pizza. However, the Artichoke with Sun Dried Tomatoes, Parmesan and Buffalo Mozzarella Pizza is a 'speciality,' I want to cook!
''Artisan Pizza'' is published on 1st November by Kyle Books at £12.99. It is available from The Times Bookshop at only £10.39 with free post and packing on 0845 2712134 or at
