SCALLOP WEEK
If you are a lover of scallops then there is no better place to spend a long weekend or even a winter week than at the Rye Bay Scallop Week which is scheduled from Saturday 15th to Sunday 23rd February.
Rye Bay Scallop Week in Rye, East Sussex offers the perfect opportunity to indulge in seafood delights! The town's restaurants will be showcasing an array of different scallop dishes. There will also be a range of Scallop events.
TALK AND TASTE AT MARKET FISHERIES on15th and 22nd February 2014, 10am - 12pm
Join Russell Drew from Market Fisheries is at Simmons Quay for a talk on Rye Bay Scallops. There will also be shucking / cutting demonstrations (weather dependant) and taster samples of Scallop Ceviche, marinated Scallop with Lime, Chilli, Lemon and Sea Salt.
RYE ARTS AND CRAFTS FAIR on Saturday 15th February 2013, 11am - 5pm
A vibrant, twice-monthly craft fair with all manner of beautiful local arts and crafts and a cafe with delicious homemade food. Especially for Rye Bay Scallop Week you will be a stall selling Rye Bay Scallop Shell Souvenirs.
FISHERMAN'S SCALLOP TASTER AT RYE FARMER'S MARKET on Wednesday 19th February 2014, 10am - 12pm
Rye Bay scallops will be served in many restaurants in the area throughout the Scallop Week alongside a range of other events.

BREDE FARMERS MARKET on Friday 14th and 21st February 2014, 10am - 12pm
Brede Farmer’s Market is a weekly farmer’s market
which takes place in Brede village hall every Friday 10 – 12noon. It has been
running for 10 years now, and is organised by Liz and Peter Stephens. The
market was started to serve the local community with quality
local produce, and as a tool to raise funds to keep the village hall running
and to pay for its upkeep. Refreshments raise money for local charities.You can expect to find local smoked foods, fresh
game, fresh fruit and veg, homemade delicious jams/chutneys. Fresh fish from
Rye, fresh bread, free range eggs, spices, local lamb, apples and apple juice,
