Cheesy Biscuits

A quick and easy recipe for tasty biscuits, that you can make with the kids this week while they are on half term vacation.  

150g plain flour -sifted
150g unsalted butter - diced and cold 
150g mature cheese - grated

  • Rub the flour and butter together with your fingers until you have fine bread crumbs. Mix in grated cheese with your hands. Once well mixed, squash the ingredients together to make sticky dough.
  • Roll onto a well-floured surface until 1 cm thick. Cut out circles and place on to a greased or lined baking tray.
  • Cook for 10 minutes at 170’C or Gas Mark 5. 
  • Take them out of the oven when they are still pale and before they turn brown and season with cracked pepper and sea salt while they are still hot.
  • Serve when cool.
