Rock Stars Favourite Foods

Few of us will ever eat at Quaglino's Restaurant in Central London. I went there once in 1972 as a guest of the Vice Chancellor of London University and have never been again. I couldn't afford the bill these days. It is a place for the very rich and famous and from its inception in 1929 by Giovanni Quaglino, it has become a destination restaurant, offering the very best in food, drinks and live music – with rock star royalty throughout the years having visited, from the Rolling Stones, Elton John and Michael Hutchence, to name a few. With Quaglino’s sweeping staircase and art-deco inspired dining room, guests can enjoy a glass of champagne, before dining in the iconic restaurant - Or spend a night in the mezzanine bar where guests can indulge in cocktails and really make the most of the night.

The chosen few can also regularly browse Quaglino's photographic gallery and currently for their tenth exhibition, they are showcasing rock ‘n’ roll food photography by award-winning food photographer Patrice de Villiers. The well known chef, Heston Blumenthal, describes her style as “fearless and imaginative” and she is acclaimed internationally for her anarchic ‘rock n roll’ approach to food photography: from smothering rock-stars in Marmite, covering naked torsos with Haggis and pelting celebrities with day-glow cupcakes, all to get the perfect shot. Guests at Quaglino's can view the legendary Patrice de Villiers’ exclusive photographic exhibition of images commissioned by LoveMusicLoveFood.

VV Brown - Marmite

The LoveMusicLoveFood project has evolved around the vision of renowned food photographer Patrice de Villiers. Working alongside celebrated music journalist Andrew Harrison, who penned the interviews, and rock and roll caterer to the stars, Sarah Muir, who created the recipes. Patrice and her team enlisted the help of many other talented individuals and companies who generously donated their time and services to the project. The end result is LoveMusicLoveFood, The Rockstar Cookbook – a stunning book raising funds and awareness for the charity Teenage Cancer Trust.

Brandon Flowers - Kebabs

The exhibition runs until Saturday 1 February 2014, and illustrates some of the best musical talent from around the globe including Noel Gallagher, Juliette Lewis, The Kooks, Roger Daltrey, Brandon Flowers, Brian May, Siouxsie Sioux and Paul Weller – and their favourite foods. The photographs are taken from LoveMusicLoveFood, The Rockstar Cookbook. All images within the exhibition and the cook book are available to purchase with all profits going to Teenage Cancer Trust. As few of us will ever see these photos, I am blogging a few here.
